Our Story

Looking for reliable Pickens County junk removal? We have been your local junk removal business since back in 2018. Junk Generals was born in my mind, Matthew Jourdan’s, when I was a kid. I was 11 years old and saw an opportunity to start a business, or so I thought. Back then, my “business” was my dad paying for everything and being my free labor, and me learning.

By the time 2018 came around, it turned into an actual business. I learned about these new things called insurance, a business license, and real expenses. But I was just out of high school and fought through it. Now, we have grown since 2018 and have learned so much. We have gotten bigger and better equipment, taken advice from customers, and gotten to the point where we are actually busy and working full time. We can finally say that, thanks to what I accidentally started setting up at 11, we are your locally owned and family-operated junk removal business that Pickens County can trust!

Growing up, I lived in East Cobb, and honestly, I didn’t move far. We are located in Marietta and like it here, but something has to change. We have worked all over the metro area for too long. Fortunately, we have quite a number of jobs in Pickens County over the years, and we are finally able to fully announce that every city within Pickens County is now in Junk Generals’ service area.

Pricing

Pricing with junk removal is a little difficult to post on a website as there are so many factors used to come up with a quote. For example, a garage full of furniture would generally cost less than a house full of the same amount of furniture, since there’s so much more labor associated with it. All that said, we do have some generic prices that at least give you a starting place, but we always recommend you just reach out with your individual load, and we can go from there. Below are some bullets explaining the generic prices:

  • Minimum Pickup: $185

  • Full load in Driveway/Curbside/Garage: $650

  • Full load going into customer’s house: $750

  • Full load of heavy/construction debris: $850

We are excited to be able to handle harder-to-dispose-of items like yard waste, dirt, concrete, pianos, mattresses, and paint. Disposal, Recycling, and Donation

We hate throwing stuff away. Isn’t that weird for a junk removal company?? Let me specify: we love taking stuff from our customers and helping them clear out their lives, but we hate just filling up a landfill. We do our best to keep items out of those big pits. We always start by going to a donation facility and giving away what we can, then head to a recycling facility and give them as much as they’ll take. We actually recycled almost 100% of our appliances in 2025, then whatever’s left goes to a landfill or transfer station, but it’s our last resort.

That’s a hard question to answer. It is definitely more expensive than if you do it totally yourself, but it is far less than using a big franchise or multi-state business. We can generally work with most any budget to make a plan to get your junk out of there.
