We have been in business since 2018, when our founder (it’s just me, Matthew Jourdan) started hauling junk for neighbors! Ever since I was a kid, I had a weird fascination with hauling junk. When I was 11 years old, we had one of those big storms that had a ton of water rushing into people’s houses. The next morning, I started door knocking!

My dad got drafted as free labor and a driver, and a little business was born. In 2018, after 8 years of a kid hauling trash, I was finally old enough to get all the important stuff. Junk Generals became an officially licensed business and got covered by insurance. Since then, we have been clearing and hauling junk from all of North Georgia, but are specifically based in Cobb County.

Cobb County Locations

We are based out of Cobb County off of Owenby Dr, but I have always lived here locally. I grew up in Chimney Springs very near Tritt Elementary. While I went to a private school in Alpharetta, I got to know all my neighbors by picking up their junk. From the start, we have hauled items from every corner of Cobb County. Being based in East Cobb, our team specifically worked all over that area in the beginning.

Initially, we started working for all the neighbors in the Pope, Lassiter, Walton, Wheeler, and Sprayberry districts, and just kept growing from there. Today, our crew services every area of Cobb County. Over the years, we have taken pianos in Kennesaw and refrigerators in Smyrna. Additionally, we did a large office cleanout in Smyrna a few years ago, and got our very first commercial demo in East Cobb. In 2025, we tore down the old Mt. Bethel daycare. That was a real full-circle moment for me since I went to elementary school at Mt. Bethel back in the day! Ultimately, now that we are a real business, we are able to service every single city within Cobb County, including Marietta, Smyrna, Kennesaw, Acworth, Powder Springs, Austell, Mableton, East Cobb, West Cobb, and Vinings!

Pricing

Our pricing structure varies a little bit. Within Cobb County, residents and commercial customers are able to get our lowest minimum of $150. We show up with a 16-yard trailer and offer the full-service junk removal package. Basically, if you can point at it, we can make it disappear. Our prices range based on what you have, but we start at $150 and can go all the way up to $850 at most. To make it a little clearer, reference the bullets below!

  • Minimum Pickup: $150

  • Full load in Driveway/Curbside/Garage: $650

  • Full load going into customers’ houses: $750

  • Full load of heavy/construction debris: $850

We also specialize in hard-to-dispose-of items such as yard waste, dirt, concrete, pianos, mattresses, paint, and more! For items such as these, the prices vary a little too much to be able to put a number on a website since each job is different. Disposal, Recycling, and Donation

Junk Generals is set apart because of our dedication to keeping items out of the landfill. While we do go to landfills or transfer stations, our goal is to bring the least we can to them. It’s a bit of a double-edged sword, as it costs us—and therefore, our customers—less to dispose of, and it is a net good to the planet! Our first stop is always a local charity or nonprofit to responsibly give the items away for a second use. This is the best-case scenario as there is nothing that has to be done and your items can continue to be loved by someone new!

Secondly, we will go to a recycling center. Junk Generals has been doing this long enough that we have all the inside scoop on where to recycle. We keep all our metal, cardboard, paper, yard waste, concrete, dirt, and brick out of landfills and into recycling. While it’s not our first option, it’s much better than ending up buried in the landfill. Finally, whatever’s left does end up at a landfill; however, we are lucky enough to say it is a very small percentage. In 2025, we were able to recycle almost 100% of our appliances!
